An angle that's too small easily leads to chipping, while an angle that's too large increases energy consumption. Wood chipper blades typically require a steeper angle (30°-40°) because:

Raw material differences: Often processed with bark, requiring stronger cutting force.

Finished product requirements: Producing thicker wood chips, a larger angle is more suitable.

Durability considerations: Harder woods require stronger cutting edge support.

 

How to Choose the Ideal Angle
There is no one-size-fits-all "height" angle, but consider the following:

Softwood processing: 25°-30° is more energy-efficient.

Hardwood processing: 30°-35° is more durable.

Mixed materials: A compromise of 28°-32° is suitable.

High-volume requirements: Appropriately reduce the angle to improve efficiency.

Regularly checking the blade wear and adjusting or replacing it promptly is more important than rigidly adhering to a certain angle.
